Lord
You gave up your one and only son
That we might be forgiven
For all we have ever done that is wrong
Everything we did not say but should have said
Every evil thought

We turn to you
We say sorry
We follow you more closely
We live our lives, Jesus as you would have us live them
Yes, we are up for that!

But we can't do it on our own
We can't do it without you
Or without your forgiveness,
without your power, your Spirit at work in us

When you died your body was given for us
When you died your blood was shed for us
And so when you ate and drank with your followers
Whom you loved just as you love us
Just as you love everyone gathered in this place today
Broken bread was your body
Wine shared was your blood for all
So it is now
That we might be forgiven and come home
To rest in you
Like the birds of the air come to rest
Rest in the large branches
Of the mustard tree

So by your Spirit bless this bread we are about to eat
That it may be to us your body
Be your Spirit bless this wine
That it may be to us your blood
Spirit come
And bless us now
